"Oscar has a 10 second penalty, that means we will not follow him into the pitstop."
McLaren then relayed a message to Piastri: "Oscar, the safety car restart - we've been given a 10-second penalty for the braking on the straight before the restart.
"You have a 17-second gap to Stroll. We want to try and pull as much of a gap as we can."
Damon Hill questioned Piastri's move, claiming it has handed a great advantage to Norris.

"Completely shocking that, you have to wonder what Oscar Piastri did before the restart, he slowed down and Max got himself a bit onside," he said. "That's handed a great advantage to Lando Norris because he now doesn't have to get past Max."
Piastri was leading at the time of the incident.
But his teammate Norris finished strong and secured his maiden victory at Silverstone.
He was greeted to a thunderous reception from his home fans as he crossed the finish line.
