Fans were quick to have their say after Sky Sports’ Martin Brundle appeared to ‘ignore’ a celebrity while he embarked on his iconic grid walk ahead of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

Brundle, 66, was up to his usual tricks on Sunday as he walked through a who’s who of celebrities ahead of the British Grand Prix, which Red Bull’s Max Verstappen started on pole while the McLaren pairing of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris started in second and third.

During his walk, the broadcaster stopped for a chat with former F1 star Nigel Mansell, ex-England and Arsenal forward Ian Wright, British actor Idris Elba, and F1 film star Damson Idris.

Brundle also briefly spoke to actor Tom Holland, who is best known for starring in films such as Captain America and Spider-Man, just to name a few.

When asked who he was supporting ahead of the race, Holland said: “I’m here for Lewis [Hamilton] today.”

Before he added: “You know, I hope the rain keeps up to make it as exciting as possible.”

Holland continued: “I haven’t seen Lewis here… I’m going to try and catch him before he gets in the car. I’m always really wary to not be a distraction. I’m amazed at how calm the drivers are before they go out. I had the chance to sit in the Williams early, it is so intimidating and terrifying.

"So, I'm amazed at their composure and their ability to talk to people and be in amongst all of this craziness before they race.”

However, Brundle did not stop to chat with another famous actor who was stood directly behind Holland while the pair conversed.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who features in 28 Years Later, was seemingly snubbed by Brundle, and fans were quick to have their say.

One said: “Every time Martin Brundle walks past Aaron Taylor Johnson on his grid walk and completely ignores him, it gets funnier and funnier.”

Another added: “Martin Brundle walking straight past Aaron Taylor Johnson at the F1!! ROBBED."

A third claimed: “MARTIN BRUNDLE KEEPS BLANKING AARON TAYLOR-JOHNSON I CAN’T BREATHE.”

As a fourth explained: “That was genuinely the best grid-walk ever. Such a plethora of celebrities treating Martin Brundle like the hero he is - not an ounce of narcissism in sight. Silverstone just does it better.”

A fifth quipped: “There’s not a chance Martin Brundle knows who Aaron Taylor-Johnson is; he’s walked straight past him about 5 times now.”
