Although he won the 2025 world title, Lando Norris is yet to achieve the Formula 1 Grand Slam, something Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen have done on multiple occasions.
After losing out to Verstappen in 2024, Norris produced a string of brilliant performances to reach the top in 2025, when he was crowned F1 world champion.
The Brit finished third in the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which was enough to beat Verstappen to the title by just two points.
Heading into 2026, Norris will look to defend his title, with McLaren expected to challenge for wins alongside the likes of Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari.

In addition to winning the title again, Norris will also be looking to secure his first F1 Grand Slam.

What is the Formula 1 Grand Slam?
The Grand Slam in F1 consists of a driver starting in pole position, winning the race, leading every lap and setting the fastest lap of the Grand Prix.
Argentine legend Juan Manuel Fangio was the first driver to achieve the Grand Slam, doing so during the 1950 Monaco Grand Prix.
Meanwhile, Jim Clark is the one who has secured the most Grand Slams, having done it eight times during what was an illustrious career.
On the current grid, Hamilton and Verstappen have both got six Grand Slams to their names.
Charles Leclerc and Fernando Alonso secured their only Grand Slams in 2022 and 2010, respectively.
Meanwhile, Norris' teammate, Oscar Piastri, earned his first Grand Slam during the 2025 Dutch Grand Prix, becoming the first McLaren driver to achieve the feat since Mika Hakkinen at the 1998 Monaco Grand Prix.

How close is Lando Norris to winning the Formula 1 Grand Slam?
Back in 2024, Norris had the chance to clinch his first Grand Slam in Singapore.
Having started from pole position, he led from start to finish to win the Grand Prix.
However, Norris was denied the Grand Slam by Daniel Ricciardo, who clocked the fastest lap during what was his final F1 outing.
In 2025, the Brit came close during the Mexican Grand Prix but again missed out on the fastest lap, which was set by Mercedes driver George Russell.
