Jurjen Van der Velde made his PDC World Darts Championship one to remember with a hilarious walk-out that had the crowd going crazy.
On Tuesday evening, the opening round of the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship continued with several of the biggest names in darts in action.
So far, the likes of Luke Littler, Luke Humphries and fan-favourite Stephen Bunting have all booked their spots in the second round of the major competition.
Meanwhile, several lesser-known names have had their chances to impress on the Ally Pally stage, making their debut in the biggest event in the sport.

And Dutch player Van der Velde certainly didn't waste his opportunity as his walk-out antics had the crowds in stitches, while it left the player himself in tears.

Throughout the first round of the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship, several players have complained about wasps impacting their play.
Although many decided to simply fend them off and deal with the annoying bugs, Van der Velde came prepared as he sprayed wasp repellent as he walked out towards the oche.
Just to be absolutely sure he wouldn't have any wasps near him, the 23-year-old then started to shower the spray onto his shirt and neck.
But it appears things didn't exactly go to plan as moments later the Dutchman was seen in tears as the spray appeared to be hurting his eyes.
He quickly tried to fix the issue by wiping his eyes with the cloth he uses for his glasses.
Thankfully, the spray didn't stop him from opening up with an impressive 120 checkout to take the opening leg against world number six Danny Noppert.
But his countryman managed to battle back and take the first set, winning three of the next four legs.
Despite using the spray pre-match, a wasp then made an unwelcome appearance as Van der Velde fought back in the second leg, forcing him to walk off stage and take a short break.
The 23-year-old managed to bounce back to win the second set 3-1, but ultimately couldn't get the better of Noppert, losing the match three sets to one and exiting his debut World Championship in the first round.
