As the famed UFC promoter Dana White sinks his claws deeper into boxing through his new company Zuffa, another of Eddie Hearn's clients has swapped allegiances and caused uproar on social media.
As the two titans of fighting promotions, Dana White and Eddie Hearn continue to wage war on each other, Zuffa, backed by Saudi Arabia’s Turki Alalshikh, TKO Group Holdings, and Sela, poaches fighters who have once been under Hearn's guidance at Matchroom.
The promoters recently clashed over Zuffa's signing of British fighter Conor Benn, and Tyson Fury was even linked with a huge change after being pictured with Dana White at the Presidential UFC Freedom event last month.
But it's another British boxing star who has made the most recent switch, landing another blow to Hearn's monopoly, as an 'eye-watering' contract was enough to tempt Johnny Fisher.

The 14-1 'Romford Bull' has announced that he will be fighting on the Zuffa Boxing 11 card in September, and has now launched a social media row with Hearn, who said that he would get laughed out of the room for pitching the kind of fights that Zuffa has planned for the Brit.
Eddie Hearn and Johnny Fisher go at it on social media
Speaking on TalkSPORT Boxing, Hearn reportedly claimed that Fisher, coming off his first loss, is set to bounce back with Zuffa in a string of easy fights to regain confident, something that Matchroom wouldn't provide.
"Johnny Fisher, rightfully so, by the way, because he’s had a defeat and he wants to have opposition that I would be competitive with,” Hearn said on the White and Jordan show.
“Because he wants low-level fights to get in a bit of a swing, two, three fights like that. For me, I can’t deliver that product for DAZN because you’d laugh it out of town.
“If I headlined a show for Johnny Fisher against the guys he’s going to be fighting, I would be ridiculed.
"But you would be prepared to pay for a fight that he will be in because the fight that he is in is not good enough for my product, for DAZN’s product, to put bums on seats, to make people engage.”
"It’s amazing, and I’m so happy for him because it’s a fight that can go and pay a mortgage."
However, on a post that paraphrased Hearn's comments, Fisher hit back.
"Eddie is my mate, but this just can’t be true as I don’t even know who I’m fighting yet," he said.
"My worth is based on my ability to sell out arenas," he added, defending his contract.
Responding to a fan who claimed that he is 'washed' for making the switch, Fisher added, "If this is washed I’ll get washed again please thank you."
Fisher's fight on Zuffa Boxing 11 in September has yet to have an opponent attached to it, but he will likely want to make a good comeback after suffering his first defeat to the gloves of compatriot Dave Allen in a rematch of the Usyk vs Fury undercard that he won.
