Tyson Fury had one of the most bizarre open workout in boxing history ahead of his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury is vying to become a three-time world heavyweight champion on Saturday night and looks to avenge his first ever career defeat to the Ukrainian back in May.

The Gypsy King has promised to deliver "A lot of pain... smash and damage" in the second bout and on Wednesday night, got into the ring with his main trainer Sugarhill Steward for what was expected to be a light session.

But it was lighter than anyone could have imagined. Fury, wearing an orange hoodie, laced up his gloves and bobbed up and down in the corner.

And to the confusion of those in attendance and watching on a DAZN stream, the former world champ did not throw a single punch on the pads and exited very promptly.

It was a stark contrast to his May workout, where Fury shadow boxed and hit the pads for around 15 minutes.

Reacting to the short workout, trainer Steward said: “It was a little workout. We gave it our best. Tyson Fury is just ready right now, along with myself. He’s always had like a silly demeanour and [been] playing around, but this is a different side of him. He’s just ready, 100 per cent ready.”

Steward also confirmed that Fury's dad John will not be in the corner for the fight after being slammed for the contradicting advice he gave the 36-year-old in his first ever professional defeat.

Asked who will be in the corner, Steward said: "Just myself, Andy Lee and the cutman, pretty much that's it."
