Popular streamer Adin Ross changed his $1,000,000 bet for the Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford fight on Saturday after he received a "very important" last-minute phone call.
It was a historic night in Las Vegas as Crawford became the first three-weight undisputed champion of the modern era, beating super-middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Álvarez by unanimous decision.
All three judges sided with Crawford, with Tim Cheatham and Max De Luca scoring the bout 115-113, while Steve Weisfeld had a wider scorecard in favour of "Bud", scoring it 116-112 for the winner.
It was a result that was celebrated by Kick streamer Adin Ross, who switched his seven-figure bet from Alvarez to Crawford during the co-main event after receiving a mysterious phone call.

As seen in the footage below, Ross temporarily left his stream to take the call in private.
On his return, Ross then asked his manager, Jordan, to change his bet from Alvarez to Crawford. “It’s not rigged,” the streamer said, as per Bloody Elbow. “All I’m going to say, chat, is I got one of ‘those’ calls."
He continued: “They were just like ‘listen, we think that if you were to do this [go for Alvarez] it’s going to get bad’. It’s not rigged, there’s no inside bulls—, I promise you that. But this is what I got told, and I put this on my whole family’s lives."

“I got told that the fight is closer than everyone thinks it is and that the odds if it’s a 50/50 pick ’em fight? You’ve got to go with the higher odds," Ross added. "That’s the real spill, I promise. It’s really a 50/50 fight, that’s the truth.”
It is not clear who he'd allegedly spoken to or what was said, but Ross switched his bet shortly before Alvarez and Crawford made their way to the ring. The report from Bloody Elbow suggests he could have pocketed over $1.4 million.

Crawford would go on to extend his unbeaten record to 42-0 with victory over Alvarez, who has now suffered three defeats in his career, having previously lost to Floyd Mayweather in 2013 and Dmitry Bivol in 2022.
Canelo makes huge statement after defeat to Crawford
In the post-fight press conference, Alvarez was asked to compare his fights against Crawford and Floyd Mayweather – and his answer speaks volumes.

"He (Crawford) deserves all the credit," said the Mexican. "I tried my best tonight, I just cannot figure out the style. He has everything, I tried my best tonight. I think Crawford is way better than Floyd Mayweather."
