What Canelo Alvarez said after being beaten by Terence Crawford has gone viral.

On Saturday night, all eyes were on the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, as Alvarez and Crawford went to battle.

With the WBO, WBC, IBF and WBA super-middleweight belts on the line, Crawford produced a masterclass to clinch victory.

The American came out victorious after the judges scored the bout 116-112, 115-113, 115-113 in his favour.

As a result, Crawford extended his unbeaten record to 42-0 while also becoming the undisputed super-middleweight champion.

Speaking after the fight, the 37-year-old said: "I'm not here by coincidence. Canelo is a great champion. I have to take my hat off to him; he's a strong competitor, and I have nothing but respect for him. He fought like a champion.

"I don't know, I've got to sit down with my team and we're going to talk about it."

For Alvarez, the Mexican has now suffered three defeats in his career, having previously lost to Floyd Mayweather in 2013 and Dmitry Bivol in 2022.

After the fight, during the press conference, Alvarez was asked to compare his fights against Crawford and Mayweather.

He replied: "He (Crawford) deserves all the credit. I tried my best tonight, I just cannot figure out the style. He has everything, I tried my best tonight.

"I think Crawford is way better than Floyd Mayweather."

Back in 2013, Mayweather beat Alvarez inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas via a majority decision.

At the time, the Mexican lost the WBC and The Ring light middleweight titles.

Canelo added after losing to Crawford: "I feel great. I want to thank everyone that came to support. I'm a winner for being here. The fact I'm here makes me a winner. I take risks and that's what I did.

"I feel great to share the ring with great fighters like him. If we do it again then it'll be great. I already accomplished a lot in boxing. My legacy is already there and I like taking risks because I love boxing. I feel strong. Crawford is a great fighter, a skilled fighter."
