Gervonta Davis is set to be removed from his upcoming fight with Jake Paul, with promoters already settling on their ideal replacement.
YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul is set to make his return to the ring to fight WBA lightweight champion Davis at the Kaseya Center in Miami on November 14.
However, less than two weeks before the event is set to take place allegation of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress were brought against Davis by his ex-girlfriend.
The allegations led to many calling for Davis to be taken off the event, with several other potential opponents rumoured to be in contention to replace the American boxer.

But now, it has been reported that Davis will not be fighting Paul, with the event set to be postponed as organisers seek out a new opponent for the influencer.

Shortly after the allegations became public, Most Valuable Promotions released a statement confirming that they were 'gathering information and reviewing the details' before making a decision regarding the event.
According to a report from Ring Magazine's Mike Coppinger, it appears that decision may be to remove Davis from the card, and move the event to next month, with December 12 and 19 potential dates.

UFC stars Francis Ngannou and Nate Diaz are believed to be among those being considered to replace Davis as Paul's opponent, with boxing stars Ryan Garcia and Terence Crawford also approached by MVP reps.
However, the report claims that former super middleweight and light heavyweight boxing champion Andre Ward is currently the frontrunner to replace Davis, with MVP recently inquiring about his availability.
Ward, who will turn 42 in February, hasn’t boxed since his controversial eighth-round knockout win over Sergey Kovalev in a 2017 rematch, but boasts an impressive record of 32 wins, 16 of which were by knockout, and zero losses.
During the fight, referee Tony Weeks stopped the fight after Ward appeared to land a low blow, giving the American a knockout win.

Following Paul's win over former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson last year, Ward expressed an interest in coming out of retirement and fighting the social media star, perhaps suggesting that it could be an easy fight to make.
However, if Ward is not available to face Paul next month, then former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou appears to be the second choice following his boxing fights with both Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
Ngannou shocked fans when he dropped Fury in their October 2023 bout, before eventually losing a split decision.

Meanwhile Joshua knocked him out in the second round of their March 2024 bout.
