Anthony Joshua has delivered a telling seven-word response after the former heavyweight champion was asked for his thoughts on facing Jake Paul as a potential replacement for Gervonta Davis.
Paul is scheduled to face Davis on November 14 in an exhibition that will be streamed live on Netflix, but the bout is on the verge of collapse.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Davis is facing a new lawsuit over allegations of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Paulâs camp, Most Valuable Promotions, have since confirmed that an investigation has been launched.

A statement read: âMost Valuable Promotions immediately initiated an investigation upon learning of the civil lawsuit filed against Gervonta Davis in Miami-Dade County on October 30, 2025. At this time, we are gathering information and reviewing the details to ensure any decision we make is thoroughly vetted."

It added: âWe unequivocally condemn any form of violence and are committed to handling this matter with diligence and respect for all involved. We will make a determination on next steps once we have completed our review and consulted with the appropriate parties. Until then, we will not be commenting further.â
Two former UFC fighters are said to be in the mix to replace Davis, including Nate Diaz, while Anthony Joshua has given his response to the idea of facing Paul following months of speculation.

Speaking to iFL TV this week, Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, was asked if it was a "viable option" for the 36-year-old to fight Paul before the end of 2025.
He said "many things must fall into place" for a match-up to happen, including the exclusivity between Netflix and DAZN. "Without DAZN's consent or blessing, or a deal that they are happy with, we wouldn't move forward anyway," he added.
Hearn also confirmed that he has already spoken to Jake Paul's manager, Nakisa Bidarian, about the ongoing situation, as well as two-time heavyweight champion Joshua.
In fact, when asked about Joshua's thoughts on a potential bout against Paul, Hearn said that his fighter's response was an emphatic one. As quoted by the promoter, AJ said: "Just let me know where and when."

"100 per cent it can happen," Paul told Sky Sports. "Our teams are already talking and in the works to try and make it happen for next year. It would be fun to take on Anthony Joshua after this fight [against Gervonta Davis on November 14]."
He added: "Take a massive risk and a massive challenge and to go into a fight where no one thinks that I would even have the slightest chance of winning, that excites me."
