Jake Paul was once sued a huge amount by Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing for a controversial claim in a now-deleted interview.
On December 19, Paul will walkout to the boxing ring for the second time this year as he faces former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida
The Youtuber-turned-boxer was originally scheduled to lightweight world champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis on November 14, but the fight was called off as Davis' faces a legal battle with his ex-partner accusing him of battery, false imprisonment and kidnapping, among other charges.
Paul's fight with Joshua will no doubt lead to some heated confrontations with legendary boxing promoter Hearn, who represents Joshua, given his history with the influencer.

In their most controversial clash, Paul found himself facing a major lawsuit from Hearn and Matchroom Boxing after he made a bold claim in an interview that was later taken down.

Alongside his boxing career, Paul also works as a promoter for Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), the company he established alongside his adviser Nakisa Bidarian in 2021.
Through his wok with MVP, Paul co-promoted the Amanda Serrano vs. Katie Taylor trilogy through a partnership with Matchroom Boxing, leading to several encounters with Hearn.

The first bout between the two women took place on on April 30, 2022, at Madison Square Garden, with Taylor winning the bout via split decision.
And in the wake of the result, Paul slammed one judge for scoring the fight in favour of the Irish legend, who is promoted by Hearn and Matchroom.
Paul told iFL TV in a now-deleted interview: “I still think Amanda Serrano won the fight.
“And then you see how this judge who had the biggest gap between Taylor and Serrano.

“Everyone pretty much had it a draw … a draw or that Amanda won. But there’s this judge, who scored it such a big gap for Taylor, gave rounds that Amanda clearly won, to Taylor."
In his emotional rant, Paul also drew attention to Feldman's scoring of the first fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Joshua.
He added: “Usyk had a runaway victory, clearly won the fight. This judge, gives it to Anthony Joshua?
“It’s like a repeated crime here. This type of s***, I’m going to call it out here in boxing because it’s bulls***.

“Clearly, this guy is getting paid money by Matchroom Boxing.”

In response to the major claims from Paul, which clearly were not based in truth, Hearn and Matchroom boxing took legal action against the social media superstar, seeking damages of £92m ($100m) for the “outlandishly false” and defamatory comments.
Matchroom Attorney Frank Salzano said: “Both legally and ethically there is a clear line separating opinion from defamatory lies.

“Jake Paul knows that, and he purposely crossed that line when he wrongly accused Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn of fixing fights.
“Nonetheless he was still given an opportunity to retract his defamatory statements and refused to."
Paul attempted, and failed, to get the suit dismissed by a New York judge in September 2024, before trying to countersue one month later.
However, in April it was confirmed that both parties had filed a joint dismissal after an undisclosed settlement was reached, putting an end to the legal battle.
