Darren Till has issued a strongly-worded statement on social media after Tommy Fury claimed their January fight is OFF.

Fury took to social media to declare that his fight against Till is OFF, referencing his opponent's inability to abide by professional boxing rules.

In a statement, he wrote: "I can't believe I'm writing this but I am now not fighting Darren Till on January 18th 2025. For the one simple reason being that Darren has stated over and over that he does not want to abide by professional boxing rules and that if he is loosing [sic] the fight he will resort to kicking and other stupid MMA tactics.

"I am a professional boxer, I have been out of the ring for over a year and I wanted this to be a great BOXING fight for the fans. I have wasted weeks in training camp. We are working hard to get a new opponent and date. I promise to get a better opponent and better fight for you guys. Good news around the corner."

It comes after the former UFC star threatened to use MMA moves against Fury if he was down on the scorecards.

He made the revelation during a pre-fight press conference, which descended into chaos.

Responding to Fury's shocking claim, Till called out Jake Paul, exclaiming: "Tommy Fury u are the biggest sh*thouse I have ever met in my life do not ever call yourself a fighter again I was selling the fight to make me and you more money you absolute empty head fighting family my ass you and ur dad sh*thouses I don’t need to throw kicks you was getting knocked spark out you divvy we was making bank on this fight cos of me not you I was building it you should be fighting and should be thanking me… over and out… no one wants to fight me… Jake Paul what are you upto you big fat dummy?"

Fury hasn't fought since his controversial victory over KSI last year.

He's unbeaten in his professional career, having also beaten Paul.

As for Till, who made his name inside UFC's famed Octagon, he made his boxing debut earlier this year, beating Mohammad Mutie in Dubai.

He departed the UFC after suffering a crushing defeat to now-UFC middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis.
