Boxing fans have pointed out an 'embarrassing' moment involving a fan after Anthony Joshua's victory over Jake Paul.

British fighter Joshua, 36, who turned professional in 2013 a year after winning a gold medal at the London 2012 Olympics, took on YouTuber Paul overnight at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.

As was expected by many, Joshua emerged victorious in a mismatched encounter where he knocked Paul to the canvas on several occasions.

The fight was scheduled to last for eight rounds but it came to a conclusion in the sixth when Paul was finally knocked out and did not rise as the referee counted him out, and was later taken to hospital with a suspected broken jaw.

AJ's professional record in the ring now stands at 29 wins from 33 fights and the victory over Paul, 28, sees him return to winning ways following his defeat last September at Wembley Stadium versus Daniel Dubois, which was the last time he fought.

Joshua now has his sights set on finally taking on Tyson Fury in a long-awaited fight between the two British heavyweights now looks like it is very much on the cards.

Paul's record now reads as 12 victories from 14 fights since he began fighting professionally back in 2020, with the only losses being against Tommy Fury and now Joshua.

Speaking in the ring after the fight, Joshua said: "It wasn't the best performance. The end goal was to pin Jake Paul down and hurt him. That has been the request leading up, that was on my mind. It took a bit longer than expected, but the right hand finally found the destination.

"Jake Paul has done really well tonight, I want to give him the props. He got up time and time again. It was difficult in there for him, but he kept trying to find a way. It takes a real man to do that. You have to give Jake credit for trying, but he came up against a real fighter tonight.

"We shook off the cobwebs, I can't wait for 2026."

After his victory as he was being congratulated by supporters, one female fan in particular was keen to get a picture or video with Joshua.

Footage shows the fan repeatedly trying to get a snap of her and Joshua and attempting to interact with him with her phone in selfie mode.

But the British fighter does not seem to notice her for almost a minute before stopping for a split second for a picture with her.

However, several boxing fans believe the moment was a bit awkward ultimately and that it was purely for show on social media platforms.

One wrote: "Fighting for her life to get that ig [Instagram] story."

Another posted: "She really risked it all for that 0.5 second blurry IG story."

One fan said: "At least she got about 2-3secs in passing with AJ."

Another wrote: "Pretty embarrassing for her. Kind of sad that she was more interested in her IG than actually congratulating or interacting with AJ."

One fan simply wrote: "So cringe."

And another fan wrote: "I can't blame him though, he was spending time with his fans and probably missed her. If I was next to him I'd have screamed I'm your biggest fan AJ."
