Trevoh Chalobah makes Inter Milan transfer decision as Chelsea set loan fee price amid RB Leipzig interest

Trevoh Chalobah wants to join Inter Milan on loan from Chelsea this summer amid RB Leipzig’s fellow interest in the defender, according to reports.

Even though the Blues are still looking to sign another centre-back after the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen earlier in the summer, they could be set to allow another defender to leave.

Malang Sarr has signed for AS Monaco on loan, with Marcos Alonso still the subject of speculation with a move to Barcelona.

Club captain Cesar Azpilicueta was rumoured to be leaving but has recently signed a new deal at Chelsea, which will keep him at the club until 2024.

With the transfer window set to shut next week, there is still time for Tuchel’s side to conclude their business for the summer.

As a result, they could see another one of their players depart before the deadline passes.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chalobah has informed Chelsea of his wish to join Serie A giants Inter this summer.

The 23-year-old is ‘willing’ to sign for the Italian side on loan for this season, with the San Siro based club working hard to make a move possible.

However, Leipzig are also thought to be keen on the centre-back, and such interest from the Bundesliga outfit is thought to be of concern to Inter due to their superior ‘financial power’.

Chelsea would want a fee of around €3 million for the loan and if the Blues do not reduce the asking price, then Inter could turn their attention to Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi instead.

Both clubs have already engaged in transfer business this summer.

Romelu Lukaku has returned to Inter on loan this summer, despite only re-signing for Chelsea last summer in a club record deal.

Further negotiations between the two sides could also take place, especially if Chalobah is keen on a move to the San Siro.

The defender had his breakthrough season at Chelsea in the previous campaign, having been highly impressive during their pre-season schedule last summer.

He scored four goals in 31 appearances across all competitions and whenever he started a Premier League match for the Blues, they never lost.

Wesley Fofana has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer, despite Leicester City rejecting a third offer from the Blues for the Frenchman.

The 21-year-old is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge this summer, with Tuchel’s side keen to sign another defender after Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella.

Fofana has been left out of the Foxes’ squad for their match against Chelsea this weekend, having had the same fate for their loss against Southampton on Saturday.
