WWE's SummerSlam event has been plunged into chaos with one of their top stars left stranded and refused entry to the United States.
For the first time ever, the iconic WWE premium live event will be two nights of action and will take place at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Saturday and Sunday.
12 matches have been confirmed for the blockbuster show but it has emerged that one featured bout is at risk of not happening.
Drew McIntyre is scheduled to team with Logan Paul against Randy Orton and music mega star Jelly Roll in a tag-team match but on Sunday, the Scot took to X to post a video where he revealed he encountered some serious travel issues.
McIntyre, the UK's first WWE world champion, returned home to attend his friend's wedding and posted a video of him on a private jet.
However, the 40-year-old then shared a second video where he was in the countryside in England and said there is a "good chance" he doesn't make SummerSlam after being blocked from boarding his flight and returned to the US.
McIntyre has dual citizenship in both countries and has lived in the US since 2007. But because he only brought his UK passport and not his US passport, McIntyre was refused entry - telling his wife to go home to Nashville without him and look after their cat.
On X, McIntyre said: "It’s quite the week I’ve had – you wanna know how it’s been capped off? I can’t get back in America, they wouldn’t let me board my flight.
“Look at this scenic countryside, does that look like an American scenic countryside? No! I’m in England still, at my buddy’s wedding…”
“I was planning to go back and train for SummerSlam but no… I got blocked. My wife and I walked up to the gate, trying to check in, always goes perfectly fine – not this time.”
McIntyre then proceeded to pin the blame on Jelly Roll and accused him of using "connections" with his "15 minutes of form".
Drew McIntyre's SummerSlam status is up in the air. Image: Getty Fightful confirmed that the issue is indeed a legitimate one - with McIntyre turning it into a storyline of sorts.
However, the outlet stressed that sources within WWE that they have spoken to are "confident" that the issue will be resolved and McIntyre will be able to wrestle as planned.
His match is poised to be on the Saturday of SummerSlam but McIntyre's preparation beforehand is less than ideal.
