Rey Mysterio paid tribute to fellow WWE legend and close pal Eddie Guerrero with a spine-tingling entrance ahead of his WrestleMania 39 clash with Dominik Mysterio.
WWE announced last month that the 48-year-old legend would be the headline inductee for the 2023 Hall of Fame ceremony ahead of âThe Grandest Stage of Them All.â
Rey, real name Oscar Gutierrez, was inducted on Friday by longtime friend and mentor Konnan after the taping of Friday Night SmackDown at the Crypto.com Arena.
The WWE Hall of Famer has been involved in a storyline with his son, Dominick, and the pair met inside the ring on Night 1 of WrestleMania 39 on Saturday.

For his entrance at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California, Rey was brought out to the ring by fellow WWE Hall of Famer Snoop Dogg in a lowrider.
With Dr Dre and Snoop Doggâs âNuthinâ but a âGâ Thangâ playing in the background, Guerreroâs iconic âViva La Razaâ theme hit when Rey was brought out from behind the curtains.
Rey, who shared a close relationship with Guerrero before his friendâs untimely death in 2005, received a spine-tingling reception from WWE fans inside the SoFi Stadium.
One fan simply said: âRight in the childhood.â
Another added: âTeared up a little.â
âCold entrance, takes me back to my childhood. Gave me chills,â a Twitter user wrote.
Someone else posted: âMy childhood, man⊠Eddie Guerrero forever.â
âWWE having me tear up was not on my 2023 bingo card,â one fan tweeted.
While a sixth commented: âAlways wonder what Eddie wouldâve done in this Mysterio and his son feud.â
WCW and WWE legend Rey was famously involved in a storyline with Guerrero featuring Dominik, which culminated with a ladder match at 2005âs SummerSlam pay-per-view.
Rey defeated his son Dominik, who was previously a tag team champion with his father in WWE, by pinfall in their singles match at WrestleMania 39.
