"He Will Have An Impact" Quinton Fortune Makes Christian Eriksen Manchester United Prediction

"He Will Have An Impact" Quinton Fortune Makes Christian Eriksen Manchester United Prediction

The former Manchester United player believes that the new signing will be crucial to Erik ten Hag's plans.

Christian Eriksen is a Manchester United player, and it is not just his teammates who are excited for his arrival at Old Trafford.

Former Manchester United player Quinton Fortune has expressed his excitement at the signing of the Denmark international and believes United need to play through him.

The midfielder has shown that he still has the spark after his stint at Brentford last season, and Fortune believes that it's exactly what United have lacked .

"We’ve been missing some creativity, this guy has got creativity, whoever’s playing up front needs to make the run, he will find you.” He told the official United Podcast

Eriksen racked up 62 Premier League assists for Tottenham Hotspur in his time there, with very few players assisting more goals in this time. He was considered one of the best playmakers in the league.

Fortune continued, “I’m so excited to see him in a red jersey, [It is] amazing how they loved him at Brentford, how he changed the team when he came in. So [he’s a] great signing.”

Eriksen’s impact at Brentford was certainly an impressive one. Despite having not played football in over eight months, he was a standout in their side.

Before his arrival, Brentford had racked up just 24 points from 26 games. From his 26th February debut onwards, they racked up 22 points in 12 games, with Eriksen playing 11 and starting 10 of these.

From his arrival onwards, Brentford racked up the eighth highest number of points in the Premier League, and he guided them to a 13th placed finish overall.

Quinton Fortune believes his arrival at Manchester United could have a similar impact in terms of improving the side.

“[Ten Hag] wouldn’t sign him if he didn’t think he was going to have an impact, he will have an impact. Those that have played against him and have played the game will know this guy is a wonderful player.”

He finished off by once again expressing his excitement at the signing, “I’m glad he chose Manchester United so [it’s] exciting. I can’t wait to see him.”

The South African’s feeling regarding this signing is not so dissimilar to that of the fans, with everyone eagerly anticipating what the Danish playmaker can bring to Old Trafford.

Unfortunately, there will have to be a wait before fans get to see him in action as Eriksen, along with fellow new signing Lisandro Martínez, will not be flying to Australia to join up with the rest of the squad.

This is because of all the hassle of travelling so far, and all the rest of the travelling United will have to do. There is a chance they join up with the squad in Oslo, Norway when United travel there to face Atlético Madrid on the 30th July.

However it is probably more likely they wait behind and are presented to the crowd the next day at Old Trafford where United face Rayo Vallencano in their final pre-season game.

Manchester United face Crystal Palace in Melbourne tomorrow, and Eriksen will undoubtedly be watching on as he looks to learn his new side’s style of play.
