Lisandro Martinez Ready To QUIT Ajax Training Over Manchester United Transfer

Lisandro Martinez Ready To QUIT Ajax Training Over Manchester United Transfer

Ajax star Lisandro Martinez is ready to quit Ajax training if the clubs don’t reach an agreement.

Lisandro Martinez is lining up to become Erik ten Hag’s third signing for Manchester United, should the club reach an agreement with Ajax for the defender.

With Tyrell Malacia being officially announced as Ten Hag’s first signing for the club and Christian Eriksen verbally agreeing to join the Red Devils, Lisandro Martinez has been a long-time target of the manager, and looks increasingly likely to join Manchester United.

United have already submitted two bids for the Argentinian 24-year-old, however neither bid was accepted by Ajax as they are looking for at least €50 million.

United’s last bid was €45 million guaranteed with another €5 million in add ons, however this bid was not accepted and according to Steve Bates, who claims that the player and his agent are unhappy with how Ajax are conducting themselves during negotiations.

It is said that the player is ready to ‘force his way out’ of Ajax in order to secure the move, as the player dreams of playing in the Premier League and for Manchester United.

Although both the player and his agent have publicly remained silent on the deal, they are reportedly unhappy with Ajax and will hold crucial talks with them in the coming days as they try to resolve the issue.

Martinez is not the character to throw a fuss over anything, however it has been suggested that he may resort to refusing to train in a bid to prove to Ajax that they need to conclude a deal with Manchester United.

Martinez is not the only player United have seemingly been keen to sign – another apparently on Erik ten Hag’s wishlist is Brazilian winger Antony.

Although there have been suggestions that the club have enquired about the forward, this latest report claims that there has been no contact between the two clubs with regards to the player; although it has been previously stated that the winger could cost up to €70 million.

Erik ten Hag is said to be waiting to see where the future lies with respect to Cristiano Ronaldo, after the Portuguese icon requested to leave the club amid worries about his future, reportedly citing that he wishes to continue to win trophies including the Champions League before he retires, and is not confident that Manchester United can do so.

The Red Devils had enquired about RB Leipzig forward Brian Brobbley, however the club now understand that he is set to sign with Ajax on a permanent deal, ruling out any transfer to the north-west of England.

Frenkie de Jong has been the name on everyone’s lips this summer, with some reports claiming a deal is close, while others state that there are still some major obstacles to be overcome before any transfer could happen.

Christian Eriksen is set to join the club on a three-year contract after leaving London side Brentford on a free contract, with Erik ten Hag wanting to boost creativity options for next season.

Tyrell Malacia completed his transfer to the club on Tuesday for a fee of around €15 million.

Upon signing for the club, Malacia noted: “It’s an incredible feeling to have joined Manchester United. This is a new chapter for me, a new league with new team-mates and a tremendous manager [Erik ten Hag] leading us.

“I know from playing against his teams in the Eredivisie, the qualities that he has and what he demands of his players.

“Whilst I know that I am still young and will continue to develop, I can promise the United fans that I will leave everything on the pitch every time I pull on the red shirt. I’ll always be thankful to Feyenoord for all they have given to me and my family.

“None of this would be possible if it wasn’t for them. Now I’m ready to focus on the future with United, and help my new club achieve success.”
