Casemiro's Manchester United medical planned ahead of transfer from Real Madrid

Casemiro's Manchester United medical planned ahead of transfer from Real Madrid

The midfielder has a medical date set ahead of the transfer.

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro will undergo a medical throughout Friday ahead of a transfer to Manchester United, according to reports.

Marca journalist Jose Felix Diaz has said that the five-time Champions League winner has agreed to join the English club, following three days of studying their proposal to him.

It was added that Casemiro will undergo his United medical during Friday with permission of Real Madrid.

The amount of the agreement between the clubs for the player is closer to €70 million than the €60 million initially discussed.

Frenkie de Jong was at the top of Erik ten Hag's list when he joined the club as manager.

That deal, however, has had major complications and is looking increasingly unlikely, especially with the club splashing a significant amount of cash on the Brazilian midfielder.

The interest for the 30-year-old came after a deal for Juventus' Adrien Rabiot broke down.

Despite an agreement between the two clubs, United would not bow down to the wage demands from the agent of the Frenchman.

Erik ten Hag will be looking to add the Brazilian midfielder to his team as soon as possible following a shocking start to life in the Premier League.

The Dutchman's opening 2-1 loss to Brighton at Old Trafford was followed by the embarrassment of a 4-0 drubbing against Thomas Frank's Brentford.

Following the defeat at the Gtech Community Stadium, Ten Hag made his feelings known.

"It’s quite clear," he told beIN Sports. "It’s rubbish. It’s poor and we need higher standards than that and it’s clear.

I can bring up several things but that looks like excuses. And that is not there in the top we have to deliver and we didn’t do.

"We have to change that’s quite clear we have to start better both games we have to stick to the plan and from the first start we have to switch on and that’s what we didn’t do

"You start the game and you make individual mistakes but you make sure one mistake can happen but a second, third mistake is not acceptable. Players must know that.

"Pressure is always there I know that I have to analyse and find solutions, that’s my job."

United face Liverpool on Monday evening and reports are suggesting that United want to complete the deal for Casemiro ahead of the Merseyside team's trip to Old Trafford.
