UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland has courted controversy after repeating a racial slur while on commentary for an MMA event on Saturday night.

Strickland, who became middleweight champion for the second time on earlier this month when he defeated Khamzat Chimaev, was in attendance for Brand Risk 014 in Las Vegas.

The latest event put on by streamer Adin Ross took place at the UFC's Apex facility and featured a total of 11 bouts - including fights between former NBA stars and a showdown between RnB singer Ray J and internet sensation Supa Hot Fire.

The show was streamed on Kick and Strickland joined the commentary desk alongside UFC's regular streamer Nina Drama, controversial rapper 6ix9ine, fellow UFC fighter Arman Tsarukyan and others.

But one point, he was heard saying the n-word during one of the bouts after somebody else shouted, "Tap n****" and he repeated it before saying, "I like that".

A clip soon circulated online and racked up nearly 300,000 views on X.

Strickland is one of the most problematic fighters in UFC history, regularly causing controversy with comments regarding religion, race, gender and sexuality.

He has not offered any type of apology using the racial language, which was a feature of the show. In fact, he took issue with the host, content creator BenDaDon, when he said that a white fighter used the word to promoter Ross after getting "excited"

"You get a real sensitive black man," Strickland stated.

"He got real sensitive about the n-word."

Sean Strickland felt "shame" after commentating at MMA event

Strickland also made another controversial remark where he said, “I’m starting to understand why the Jews get a lot of hate after being here… You might see me back here with a weird shaped moustache".

However, he instead expressed shame for attending the MMA event, leaving early and slamming the show.

Brand Risk infamously put on the bout between Adam22 and Jason Luv, the adult film star who slept with his wife on camera and the latest card featured a fight between two dwarfs and a bizarre interview segment with a man who was a lookalike for convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

"I have never been apart of something to shameful in my life and "I hate myself and I feel like less of a man after being here," Strickland said, addressing his followers on his Instagram story.

"Oh God why did I agree to this. Nina's my friend and I like Adin but I'm sick to my f***ing stomach. I've never done anything so shameful in my life."

In a second video, he added: "There was some good boxing but then s***t got real f*****g weird. You take like these streamers and they have this massive following and you just know that they're the next generations of Americans and it's so fucking sad to think that the streamer community is going to inherit America. It's so bad and I want it all to stop."

He replied to Nina on X and maintained the same stance, writing: "Worst shame I've ever felt in my entire life. I am sorry America."
