The Irishman shared a screenshot on Twitter which showed his clash with 'Cowboy' at UFC 246 drew 1.3 million pay-per-view buys.
But Masvidal's manager Abraham Kawa replied with a message of: "So close!! good luck in 2021!!"
Congrats to the @ufc on a well fought 2020! The only sporting company on the planet to come through the entire year! Incredible!
I am honoured to secure their highest PPV of the year with McGregor Vs Cerrone.
Congrats Donald, and also on his double submission win last night. #No1 pic.twitter.com/Xvh76Gki3U

When pressed to prove his claim, Kawa said: "I don't think Jorge would like that. We don't dim another man's light to make ourselves shine brighter. He knows as we do."
'Gamebred' then posted a cryptic message of his own that stated: "I'm not even trying #supernecessary."
Masvidal stepped in to face Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title at UFC 251 in a losing effort, after Usman's original opponent Gilbert Burns tested positive for Covid-19.
McGregor will return to UFC next month when he faces Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC 257, while Masvidal has recently been called out by Stephen Thompson.

'Wonderboy' stopped Masvidal back at UFC 217 in 2017 and is keen to throw it back.
"I was poking at a guy ranked higher than me not too long ago on Twitter, in the nicest way possible," Thompson said after defeating Geoff Neal this past weekend per Bloody Elbow.
"He wasn't having it, but yes, this is two in a row. [I'm] ranked No. 11 and I'm definitely working my way up.
"Give me somebody - I want to see the NMF vs. the BMF, baby. Let's make that happen!
"Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson versus Jorge Masvidal 2. I know that he's talking about fighting Colby Covington, but we'll see."
