UFC Drop Incredible Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier Trailer

UFC have released an awesome trailer for the upcoming Dustin Poirier v Conor McGregor rematch.

The video centres on the pair's fight back in 2014, before going on to detail McGregor's rise since and the incredible support he always brings with him. Poirier then details how he believes he can beat the Irishman, claiming it will only take one mistake for him to take advantage.

The pair are fighting for the second time, six years after McGregor defeated Poirier during his meteoric rise to the top of the sport.

Since then, McGregor has even gone on to fight Floyd Mayweather in the boxing ring, becoming a rare sight in the UFC octagon with only two appearances in the last four years.

These include a 2018 defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov, and more recently a victory over Donald Cerrone in January of this year.

The Covid-19 pandemic has slowed McGregor's return to fighting and there is some talk of retirement, but he is still set to face Poirer on 23 January 2021.

Meanwhile, Poirier has been less in the public spotlight, but with a solid record since fighting McGregor. In 13 appearances since then he has lost just twice, similarly to Nurmagomedov, and also to Michael Johnson in 2016.

McGregor is not the automatic favourite for the bout, with a lack of regular fights and eyes on business ventures outside of the octagon possibly leaving him distracted.

Fans are certainly excited for it after seeing the trailer...
