The crowd at the Olympic opening ceremony went against IOC orders during Team USA's entrance.
The 2026 games will be the 25th edition of the Winter Olympics, with the Mariah Carey performing at the opening ceremony on Friday at the San Siro.
Despite the Olympics bringing nations with all different cultures across the world together, political tensions in the US have overshadowed the build-up to this year's games.
The mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, recently described Donald Trump's ICE agents as “a militia that kills” following the killings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Hundreds of protestors have gathered in Milan to oppose the US, however, Donald Trump was not there to see it in person, with vice president JD Vance and secretary of state Marco Rubio the US's representatives in Milan.
Ahead of the ceremony IOC President Kirsty Coventry, was quizzed on Vance's attendance and whether she expects Team USA to be booed during the games.
She responded: "I hope that the opening ceremony is seen by everyone as an opportunity to be respectful of each other."
However, Coventry's hopes were immediately dismissed during the opening ceremony, as Vance was loudly booed by the crowd when shown on screen as the US athletes took to the stage.

Viewers online were quick to react on social media including Americans, with one user writing: "USA got cheered loudly and when they showed JD Vance they immediately got booed loudly lmao."
Another added: "Team USA getting booed at the Winter Olympics. Is anyone surprised??"
A third commented: "I feel so bad Team USA is probably getting booed cause of all the b******* here."
"Wowowowow Team USA getting booed during the opening ceremony parade. This is just an embarrassment," another added.
It's not just fans in the stands and protestors on the streets standing up against the US, with Team GB athlete Gus Kenworthy making his opinion clear in a social media post.
The freestyle skier shared a photo where the words “F*** Ice” could be seen in urine on snow followed by a strongly worded caption.
Part of Kenworthy's caption read: “Innocent people have been murdered, and enough is enough.
“We can’t wait around while ICE continues to operate with unchecked power in our communities."
