The Sky Sports NFL studio was forced to evacuate in the middle of a playoff game due to a fire alarm.

The alarm was sounded during Sky's coverage of the Buffalo Bills and the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional round of the NFL playoffs.

The Bills emerged from a close contest the winners by a score of 27-25, which sets up a huge match against the current Super Bowl champions and Taylor Swift fan club, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Travis Kelce's side progressed after beating The Texans on Saturday.

Despite some high-tension action from the US, viewers were left more captivated by the drama in the Sky studio with the entire panel forced to evacuate the building.

The fire alarm left the entire production completely unmanned, but host Neil Reynolds took to social media to explain the situation.

He said on X: “Fire alarm… had to leave building for now. Hope to be back with you on @SkySportsNFL soon. Never a dull moment in the playoffs.”

After all safety measures were taken, the panel returned to the studio and made light of the situation with colleagues.

He said: “We’re not letting no fire alarm beat us! It’s playoff football!”

A guest of the show replied: “Tried to get rid of us but we are back!”

Reynolds replied: “That high-pitched sound wasn’t the fire alarm.

Fans also enjoyed the subplot to the action and joined in with Reynolds' banter on social media.

One fan wrote: "Don’t worry Neil, I can take over for 5 from my living room sofa."

Another added: "Makes the timeouts last a lifetime staring at the stadium shots haha."

A third commented: "I was so confused, I honestly thought ye had left without saying goodbye lol."

A fourth joked on X: "A fire alarm at 12:40 am lmaoooooooo ain't no way."
