Former New York Giants star Odell Beckham Jr has claimed that even an eye-watering $100,000,000 NFL contract is not enough money to comfortably retire on.
Beckham Jr enjoyed a hugely successful career in the league, first rising to prominence after he made one of the greatest one-handed catches ever back in 2014.
In 2019 he was traded to the Cleveland Browns before moving to the Los Angeles Rams in 2021.
During the Super Bowl that season, he scored the opening touchdown of the game, helping the Rams secure the trophy - the first and only Super Bowl title of Beckham's career.

After two injury-disrupted seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and the Miami Dolphins, he was released and remains a free agent.
Across his NFL career, Beckham has earned a substantial amount of money, with Spotrac reporting his total career earnings to exceed $100,000,000.

Despite the huge earnings, he recently explained why such a sum may not be enough to secure long-term financial security for players.
Speaking on The Pivot Podcast, he said: "If I didn't have a dollar in my account right here today as we speak, I'm going to be straight for the rest of my life.
"No question, right, I don't think everybody is in that.
"And when you've sacrificed your whole life to get here, like yeah I played 10 years in the league."
"I always explain this to people, I'm like bro you give somebody a five-year $100 million contract, what is it really?
"It's five years for $60m. You're getting taxed. Do the math, that's $12m a year that you have to spend, use, save, invest, flaunt."

Beckham continued: "I'm going to buy a car. I'm going to give my mum a house.
"Everything costs money so if you're spending $4m a year, that's really $40m over five years, $8m a year.
"Now you start breaking down the numbers, that's a five-year span where you're getting $8m. Can you make that last forever?
"You always hear the people who ain't us and ain't been the position, say: 'That would last a lifetime.'"
Away from the pitch, Beckham has earned significant sums through endorsement deals.
In 2017, he signed a five-year deal with Nike reportedly worth around $5 million per year.
ESPN reported that Adidas had also attempted to sign him, forcing Nike to increase their offer.
Beckham Jr has also signed with other brands including Head & Shoulders, Lenovo and Foot Locker.
Those have contributed to a reported net worth of $40 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
