Dallas Cowboys' Dak Prescott makes huge Super Bowl prediction and fans are losing their mind

Dak Prescott has made a huge Super Bowl prediction and supporters have taken to social media to poke fun at the 32-year-old.

Prescott was drafted to the Dallas Cowboys in 2016 and has been starting quarterback in the last eight seasons for the team. The Cowboys faced the Los Angeles Rams in a pre-season game over the weekend, the pair facing off at the SoFi Stadium.

Prescott and Rams owner Stan Kroenke met on the field pre-match, during which the Cowboys QB1 made an overconfident prediction to the 78-year-old about where their two teams would be when it came to securing a place in the 2026 Super Bowl. And Prescott’s seven-word forecast as seen the Cowboys quarterback relentlessly trolled online.

“We'll meet y'all in the NFC Championship,” Prescott told Kroenke, which is a huge prediction given the Cowboys haven’t reached that stage of the playoffs since 1995, the year they won the Super Bowl against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

A 29-year drought without an NFC title game is the longest in the NFC and the third longest in the NFL behind the Cleveland Browns and the Miami Dolphins.

The Cowboys failed to make the playoffs last season having finished 11th in the NFC, winning seven of 17 matches, though this was in part to Prescott missing much of the season due to injury.

"They gonna play Madden?"

Even so, Prescott’s comments to Kroenke have been resoundingly mocked by a number of NFL enthusiasts across social media platforms.

“they gonna play Madden 25 or something?” one user on X commented under a post of the clip of Prescott talking to Kroenke.

“Was Dak traded to Philly today as our new 4th string QB? If so, he might be right.” another added.

“Tickets at the Linc will be expensive, should probably try to get them early” a third user added with NFL fans pulling no punches on Prescott.

The Cowboys went on to lose the pre-season game 31-21 to the Rams to leave egg on Prescott’s face regarding his season prediction.

At the time of writing, the Cowboys are currently the 11th favourites to win the NFC Championship, while the Rams are the fifth favourites as per Oddschecker.

Cowboys face tough start to the season

Evidently, punters aren’t backing Prescott’s outlandish claims that the Cowboys will meet the Rams in the NFC Championship in early 2026.

The Cowboys continue their pre-season with meetings against the Ravens and the Falcons before the end of the month.

The Dallas franchise have a testing start to the regular NFL season with their first game up against 2025 Super Bowl winners the Philadelphia Eagles.

Prescott, then, will hope to remain fit and firing as he looks to make a vast majority of NFL fans eat their words and deliver success to the Cowboys for the first time in almost three decades
