With the ridiculous amount of money being spent on transfers these days who'd have thought it was Swansea's valuation of Gylfi Sigurdsson that would cause the most outrage. That's exactly what's happened since a bid for the player was rejected.
Football clubs tend not to want to sell their best players because well selling your best players generally makes you a worse side- it's not rocket science.
Of course Everton finally gave up and sold their best player but a) he clearly didn't want to stay b) they did get £75 million for him and c) they're going for a Moneyball approach and hoping their recent signings will make up for the shortfall of Romelu Lukaku's goals.

So considering Lukaku cost a staggering amount of money you'd have thought that player costing £25 million wouldn't cause such a stir, but you'd be wrong.
According to BBC Sport Swansea City today turned down an offer of £40 million for their best player Gylfi Sigurdsson with the Welsh side asking for £50 million to let the 27 year-old go.

However this news didn't go down well with fans, even though it's obviously just a sign that Swansea clearly don't want to sell the best player but for an outlandish offer they just can't afford to turn it down:
£50 million would be madness if someone wants to pay it but the point is Swansea don't really want anyone to pay that much, they just don't want to sell!
