LA Lakers star LeBron James has already made his feelings clear on Shedeur Sanders after the two were compared by a well-respected journalist.

James, 40, is one of the greatest NBA stars of all time alongside legends such as Steph Curry, Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.

The 40-year-old is set to begin his 23rd campaign after exercising his $52.6 million player option with the Lakers in June.

Meanwhile, Cleveland Browns rookie Sanders, 23, is at the other end of his career, having impressed during his NFL preseason debut on Saturday (August 9).

Sanders completed 14 of 23 passes for 138 yards and two touchdown passes in the first half to Kaden Davis as his side ran out 30-10 winners against the Cleveland Panthers.

The 23-year-old’s showing caused ESPN NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins to draw comparisons between him and James’ rookie year at the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003/04.

Perkins wrote on X: "Shedeur got a preseason game feeling like a playoff opener. Like I said, most star power for a Rookie in Cleveland since Lebron!"

So, what does LeBron make of the comparisons?

Well, it’s fair to say he’s a big fan of Sanders based on his social media activity.

On Saturday, LeBron took to X to voice his opinion on Sanders.

He wrote: “That young [prince emoji] is looking good out there! @ShedeurSanders. Keep going UP!!! HEAD down on the grind and HEAD high to the most high.”

In another post, LeBron added: “And I don’t wanna hear that “It’s only preseason” bs. Cause if he was out there not going in, y’all would be on his ass about it! So, give credit and grace, lames.”

Sanders is as confident as they come and entered the stadium in Charlotte with an entourage while playing his own music and boasted a diamond chain.

After the match, the 23-year-old was asked about how he sees things going this season, as he is still not guaranteed a spot on the Browns’ active roster.

Firstly, he praised the supporters, saying: “That's love. I'm playing for a lot of people and a lot of beliefs."

Before adding: “Everything else is not in my hands, so I don't worry about it.

"Why put energy into something that you can't control?"

Cleveland’s pre-season continues on Saturday against Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles.
