Former basketball star Allen Iverson has weighed in on the GOAT debate and labelled one NBA icon as "something he had never seen in his life."
The debate over the greatest player in the NBA is one of the most hotly contested topics in the sport.
While older fans may marvel at what Michael Jordan achieved with the Chicago Bulls, guiding them to two historic three-peats, slightly younger fans admire the loyalty and dominance that Kobe Bryant enjoyed with the LA Lakers.
More recently, LeBron James has impressed with his incredible longevity, currently preparing for a record-breaking 23rd season in the league.

Iverson, who was an 11-time All Star and even the NBA MVP in 2001, has weighed in on the debate.
He was asked to name the five greatest players in history, meaning he had to go beyond the usual three most often considered in GOAT discussions.

He listed Jordan, Bryant, and James, before completing his top five with Steph Curry and Shaquille O'Neal.

Curry's inclusion prompted surprise from the interviewer, who asked how the Warriors icon made his top five.
Iverson replied: "I've never seen anything like him in his life."
Curry has been one of the most dominant players in recent NBA seasons, winning four championships with the Warriors. Arguably his greatest impact on the sport has been his use of the three-pointer.
Curry can score points from positions that many players simply would not attempt.

He played 15 minutes in their first pre-season game as they defeated the Lakers 111-103 and managed another 16 minutes in their 129-123 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.
They still have another three warm-up watches to play before they get their regular season underway on October 21 against the Lakers.
For Warriors' fans, there have been some encouraging signs during pre-season so far.
Most notably, they recorded an impressive final quarter turnaround against the Trail Blazers .

Although the Warriors do not come into this season as one of the favourites, they will feel that with players like Curry, they are still capable of managing a play-off run and competing at the top level.
