LA Lakers Locker Room's True Feelings on LeBron James' Second Decision

The NBA icon teased his followers on social media ahead of the new NBA season

The true feelings of the LA Lakers' biggest stars about LeBron James' "Second Decision" have been revealed as the NBA season approaches tip off.

The NBA icon sent shockwaves through the basketball world on Monday, when he took to social media with a cryptic post.

James shared a short video of himself sitting opposite another man on a basketball court, with the caption: "The decision of all decisions. October 7th. 12pm EST."

For many fans, it reminded them of James's televised announcement in 2010, called "The Decision", when he announced he was leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers to join the Miami Heat. Given that James turns 41 in December and is about to enter his 23rd NBA season, many wondered whether it could be a retirement announcement.

But it turned out to be part of a promotional campaign for a drinks brand. Now, some of the Lakers' biggest names have shared their thoughts on James' Second Decision.

Rui Hachimura said: “He loves to do that type of stuff."

Austin Reaves added: “I got a couple calls, like, ‘What is this?’”

Meanwhile, Lakers head coach JJ Redick, who extended his contract with the team last month, said: “You guys are idiots.”

James has already cemented himself as one of the most greatest players in basketball history.

He is the league's all-time leading point scorer and last year became the first plater to score 50,000 points across regular season and play-off games.

It is also a sign of his incredible longevity that he will become the first player in NBA history to reach 23 seasons in the league.

However, at the age of 40, the Lakers are now much more cautious about managing his game time.

James is not expected to play in pre-season, with staff instead targeting ahis return for the opening night in less than two weeks, when the Lakers travel to face the Golden State Warriors.

Although it is unlikely that the Lakers will reach the NBA Finals this season, James will still hope to lead his side into the play-offs and add to his four championships.

And next season he will once again have the opportunity to share the court with his son Bronny.

Last year, they became the first father-son duo to play together in the NBA, another marker of James' longevity within the sport.

James has not confirmed whether this will be his final season in the NBA, but many fans believe that his retirement may not be far away.

Whatever comes next, he remains one of the most recognisable faces in the sporting world, with an influence far beyond basketball.
