Tom Aspinall has spoken out for the first time since his UFC title defence was halted by an eye poke from opponent Ciryl Gane.
UFC heavyweight champion Aspinall's highly-anticipated return to the octagon of ended in disaster on Saturday night after the fight was called off early due after Ciryl Gane injured the champion with an accidental eye poke.
In the final moments of a competitive opening round Gane accidentally pressed his fingers into both of his Aspinall's eyes, forcing the Brit to stop fighting as he could no longer see out of one of his eyes, with the fight being ruled as a no-contest.
Although he was outspoken in the octagon following the fight, Aspinall has since remained quiet on social media, leaving fans speculating how the injury has really impacted him.

To which Aspinall replied: "They both were! He got warned twice before it, f****** did it again."
In the final clip of the video, Tom's dad Andy Aspinall, who has trained his son since he was young, opened up about his feelings towards seeing his son in such distress.
"Mike Bisping, he lost his eye. It's just a horrendous thing to think about as a parent really," Andy admitted.

"I know what it's like these days with people saying what they want but if it's your son and they could lose an eye and their health, and they've got childrent to look after, something needs doing about it. It's horrendous for me to look at."
The video then ends by revealing that a full video showing the aftermath of the fight will be released later on Sunday evening on Aspinall's YouTube channel.
Although the clips show Aspinall undergoing medical examinations, it is not yet known whether the video will reveal the extent of his injuries or when he can expected to return to the octagon.

However, when he does, he will certainly be once again facing Gane after UFC president and CEO Dana White confirmed that they will be booking an immediate rematch between the pair.
Speaking post-fight, White said: "I think that there probably will be a lot more interest in the rematch after [Gane] had Tom bloodied up and Tom didn’t want to continue in the fight.
“So the rematch is very interesting. Right here, right now, being honest – I never do this when it comes to talking about what next fight is going to happen – the rematch is what makes sense.”
