Former MMA star turned boxer Darren Till has revealed that he made a "ridiculous" purchase after his UFC Welterweight title bout against Tyron Woodley, only to regret it the next day, in an exclusive interview with SPORTbible.
Till, 32, fought Tyron Woodley for UFC gold in September 2018 and lost by submission in round two of the bout, which headlined the UFC 228 card in Dallas, Texas.
And despite the disappointing result, the Liverpudlian was handsomely paid, and he didn’t take long to spend a chunk of his purse on a "ridiculous" purchase.

In an exclusive interview with SPORTbible, ahead of his MF & DAZN: X Series 21 headliner against ex-MMA fighter Darren Stewart on Friday (May 16), the 32-year-old revealed how he lost thousands after making a “horrible” decision in the aftermath of UFC 228.
When asked if money motivated him, Till said: “It was never about the money for me, it was about UFC titles. I spend [money] as fast as I get it. I didn’t ever hold any value for it; I still don’t, to be honest.”

He added: “After my world title in the UFC, I went to Manchester. I bought a £57,000 ATP [watch] and the next day I didn’t like the colour of it and I tried to sell it back and I lost out [on money].

“The next day, I hated it. It was a horrible, heavy watch… I went to try and sell it back, and they tried to offer me like £5,000 less, and I was like, ‘really?’.
"I got out of it in the end but that was a ridiculous purchase - I’d never do that again. Only fake watches now.”
Since leaving the UFC in 2023, Till has turned his hand to boxing and defeated Anthony Taylor by KO at Misfits X Series 20 inside Manchester's Co-op Arena in January 2025.
The Liverpool-born fighter was originally scheduled to fight Tommy Fury - brother of Tyson.

However, Fury, 26, pulled out of the bout because Till "stated over and over that he does not want to abide by professional boxing rules and that if he is losing the fight he will resort to kicking and other stupid MMA tactics", during a heated press conference in November 2024.
The 26-year-old former Love Island contestant returned to action with a points victory against Kenan Hanjalic on May 9.
And despite Till claiming that he didn't watch the fight, he still issued his thoughts on Fury and his family.

"I just think Tommy doesn’t really know who he is or what he is in this life," Till claimed. "I think he’s been pushed and forced into fighting by his family. I don’t think he has his own voice in his family – I think his father has the voice.
"He’s done extremely well outside of fighting, so fair play to him there. And he’s obviously got a lovely family and wife, so I’d never comment on that stuff.
"When it comes to fighting, I don’t think Tommy knows who or what he is. Tommy likes the idea of being a fighter, but I don’t think he actually likes being a fighter. A lot of these guys here [on Misfits] like the idea of being a fighter."
He continued: “I think Tommy likes to look good; he does look good. I think I just have too much mentally for Tommy, I just think mentally I could break that man by looking him in the face."
