Marcus Rashford's performance for Man Utd vs Fulham has uncomfortable fans making the same point

Marcus Rashford was heavily criticised for his performance during Manchester United's disappointing display against Fulham.

Rashford started on the left flank for the fourth Premier League game running at Craven Cottage, but the 28-year-old failed to have an impact as Lisandro Martinez's own goal looked like the difference between the two sides.

That was before Matheus Cunha's deflected strike in the dying embers rescued a point for Man United, who have now collected five points from a possible 15 in the top flight.

Man United fans slam Marcus Rashford vs Fulham

United produced another disjointed performance in the league as they struggled to create many clear-cut chances. In fact, until Cunha netted a late equaliser, it was Bruno Fernandes who had the best of them in the first half when he skimmed the post with a sweeping attempt inside the box.

Gary Neville also slammed Man United's players for "walking" shortly after going 1-0 down and even labelled the 15 minutes after half-time as the "worst" he's ever watched since supporting the club.

Despite securing a late draw at Craven Cottage, many fans were quick to criticise Rashford's display down the left flank after watching him fail to score for the fifth game running in the league.

"No real conviction in Rashford’s actions. Refuses to let it fly, his dribbles are mostly to hold the ball & use runners + he just doesn’t seem comfortable in trying or risking anything. Has to do better with that last chance, got to get over the ball," one fan commented before the England international was hooked for Joshua Zirkzee in the 77th minute.

"Ngl, Carrick has tried his best for Rashford," another claimed, while a third wrote: "The way Rashford has nuked United’s attacking chemistry they built up in the second half of last season, he’s not even ‘bad’ per se but just not cut out for this level Villa was perfect for him."

Meanwhile, a fourth stated: "Rashford spent 18 months throwing shade at United and pushing for a permanent exit. We qualified for the UCL without him. No one wanted him in the summer, so he stayed, and then walked straight into the starting XI and is costing us."

An ineffective Rashford display was summed up by the statistics, recording just one successful dribble while failing to land the killer blow from six shots and only completing one accurate cross.

Rashford part of key Man United problem vs Fulham

Rashford's disappointing display was highlighted by his lack of conviction in attack, but he was also one of several who didn't cover enough ground without the ball.

Neville tore into Michael Carrick's men for not showing enough intensity or urgency throughout the game, and that was reinforced by the statistics.

Indeed, Fulham (117km) covered more ground than the visitors (111km), as per Sofascore, which highlights United's biggest problem.

Rashford didn't exactly help with that narrative, as he arguably didn't cover enough ground by tracking back to help his teammates.
