Conor McGregor teases 'big' announcement with Cristiano Ronaldo and Saudi adviser Turki Alalshikh

Conor McGregor has teased a 'big' announcement after attending last weekend's boxing card in Saudi Arabia.

Conor McGregor has teased a 'big' announcement in a post that includes Cristiano Ronaldo and Turki Alalshikh.

McGregor sat ringside with Ronaldo for last weekend's blockbuster card in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as Anthony Joshua stopped Otto Wallin while Joseph Parker stunned Deontay Wilder.

He conducted an interview whilst he was taking in the action on the 'Day of Reckoning' bill, leaving fight fans online unimpressed.

The 35-year-old, who hasn't fought since July 2021, also talked up a boxing match against Manny Pacquiao.

The UFC superstar appears to have something in the works as he took to social media to tease a 'big' announcement.

He posted a picture of himself ringside at the boxing along with Al Nassr star Ronaldo and Saudi Arabia official Alalshikh, accompanied with the caption: "Legendary evening of Boxing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia! BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS COMING. @turkialalshik @cristiano."

Having fought Floyd Mayweather in August 2017, could another venture in the world of boxing be on the cards? Well, McGregor took aim at Pacquiao during a conversation with Ronaldo and Alalshikh.

“I love Manny, tell Manny to grow a set of balls," he said in a video shared by TNT Sports. "Tell Manny to grow a set of balls and fight me at a higher weight.

"Why not? It’s his sport. If he wants me to come down to a smaller weight he should let me use more of my weapons.

"I should be able to kick, I should be able to grapple. Shouldn’t that be fair? Say it to him, is he a man or a mouse? Is Manny a man or a mouse?"

But, as he's contracted with the UFC, a boxing bout seems unlikely unless Dana White is involved.

McGregor, however, could be alluding to his Octagon return, having been rumoured to be on next year's massive UFC 300 card.
