Conor McGregor has dropped a major update on his next UFC fight, outlining something that has never happened before.
McGregor hasn’t fought since 2021 after suffering a broken leg in his second straight loss to rival Dustin Poirier.
The 37-year-old had been scheduled to fight Michael Chandler in 2024 but broke his toe two weeks before fight night, forcing the bout to be delayed.
However, it seems as though McGregor is set to resume rivalries with Chandler, having responded when asked who he will next share a cage with: “Michael Chandler and myself. We've done The Ultimate Fighter. We’ve had a good back and forth. He's a good, tough guy.”
White House card to be the 'baddest'
US President Donald Trump is a friend of UFC supremo Dana White and said earlier this year that he wants to have a fight take place at The White House next year to celebrate Independence Day and 250 years of the country’s existence.

Meanwhile, White said of the UFC White House card: “We’re going to build the baddest card of all time!”

Along with McGregor fighting Chandler, Jon Jones is rumoured to be allowed to fight on the card, while Khamzat Chimaev has hinted he’d be willing to make an appearance.
McGregor has since outlined his demands to fight in the octagon in the US next year, posting on X earlier this week: “$100million to fight at the White House along with 100 U.S ‘Golden Visas’ for myself and family and friends.

“I look very forward to entertaining the fighting world once again. A pleasure I never take for granted!”
McGregor drops major UFC update
And the UFC and film star has since dropped a major update on the fight that is due to take place on The White House grounds next year.
“I'm not negotiating with the UFC for this fight like usual. I'm negotiating with the United States of America,” McGregor said on Sunday.

It comes shortly after McGregor confirmed that he had – for now anyway – given up on trying to become president of his country.

“Following careful reflection, and after consulting with my family, I am withdrawing my candidacy from this presidential race,” he posted on X last week.
“This was not an easy decision, but it is the right one at this moment in time.”
McGregor broke onto the UFC scene in 2015 when he knocked out Jose Aldo in 13 seconds to win the UFC featherweight title.
However, in recent years legal issues have affected McGregor’s career, and last November a civil jury found that he sexually assaulted a woman in 2018.
