The 38-year-old from Ireland posted a photo to X of himself holding the Ryder Cup trophy alongside the caption: "Life long dream today."
However, that was not the only message in the post.
The photo of Lowry was taken in front of a wall that had a quote from Team USA captain Keegan Bradley.
"We are going to Bethpage to kick their f*****g a****," read the quote, made by Bradley ahead of the competition.

It could be said that the choice of location was a veiled dig at the confidence Team USA had in their own abilities.
Lowry’s Europe had built up a seven-point lead ahead of the Sunday Singles, a seemingly impossible mountain to climb for Team USA.
No Ryder Cup side has ever overturned a deficit of more than four points to win on the final day.

The victory was Europe’s first win in the USA since 2012 and only their fifth away win ever.
