Footage of Rory McIlroy's wife, Erica Stoll, being hit by a beer thrown by a fan at the Ryder Cup has emerged online.
With just hours left in the 2025 Ryder Cup, it now looks all but certain that Team Europe will take retain the trophy that they won in Rome two years ago.
A dominant display from the Europeans saw them head into the final day with the scoreline at 12-5, an impressive feat given the fact that several members of the team have dealt with constant abuse from American fans.
In particular, Northern Ireland's McIlroy has struggled with spectators shouting just as he is about to take his shot, with some going as far as to make deeply personal comments about the grand slam winner's private life.

Worst of all, it was revealed that one fan struck McIlroy's wife with a beer when trying to hit the golfer, and now footage of the incident has appeared online.

During the second day of play, one fan shouted at McIlroy to ask if he had 'patched things up' with Stoll, referencing the marital issues that the golf star has recently had with his wife.
Later, as he approached the 17th green, one fan decided to throw beer at McIlroy and his wife and while most of it missed, some of it hit Stoll who has been watching all weekend supporting her husband.

In the video posted on social media by Spanish broadcaster Movistar Plus the cup of beer can be seen coming from a crowd of raucous American fans, clearly aimed at McIlroy and his wife.
Although it largely misses, Stoll immediately turns around in shock while McIlroy, clearly infuriated, goes back towards the crowd to try and find out exactly who had thrown the beer.
However, security holds the golf star back and he and Stoll eventually decide to walk away from the crowd and continue with play.
Earlier in the day the European talisman was heard telling American fans to 'shut the f*** up' among other anrgry expletive comments as they shouted and whistled while he lined up a shot.

"I don't mind them having a go at us. That's to be expected. That's what an away Ryder Cup is," said McIlroy after Friday's fourballs.
"Whenever they are still doing it while you are over the ball and trying to hit your shot, that's the tough thing. In between shots, say whatever you want to me. That's totally fine.
"But just give us the respect to let us hit shots, and give us the same chance that the Americans have."
