Golf Fans in Disbelief at What Donald Trump Wore to Ryder Cup

US president Donald Trump boarded Marine One in bizarre attire.

Golf fans can't get enough of Donald Trump's bizarre attire as he boarded Marine One to travel to Bethpage Black for the 2025 Ryder Cup.

Trump is a keen golf fan and is en route to the Bethpage Black course, a short distance outside New York.

Strict security measures are being put in place at the course, with five everyday items banned ahead of his arrival.

Bryson DeChambeau, who has previously visited the White House, hopes the presence of Trump will inspire Team USA to victory over Team Europe.

"I think he'll be a great force for us to get a lot of people on our side," he said.

"I think it will be interesting and exciting to see how the crowd and everybody reacts. It's going to be an electric environment."

Scotland's Robert MacIntyre, however, sees him as just 'another spectator' and isn't paying much attention to the fuss surrounding the politician's imminent arrival.

"It’s just another spectator. I just play golf," he explained. "I’m not bright enough, for one, to be worrying about politics. I’m worrying more about what goes on this week on the golf course.

"As a European, we’ve got a job to do to try and compete as hard as we can and hopefully win the Ryder Cup."

On Friday, after the morning session, Trump and his granddaughter Kai boarded Marine One, the US president's helicopter, to travel to the Bethpage Black course.

And people on social media were left stunned by the 79-year-old's choice of footwear as he wore golf shoes as he entered the aircraft.

Fans also joked about him actually playing at the Ryder Cup given Team USA's underwhelming start.

One X user joked: "Having seen the morning, I would put him and Barron out in the afternoon fourballs."

A second said: "99% sure he thinks he's playing."

A third added: "Put him in the lineup!!! Couldn’t be worse than what we had this morning."

Speaking to a group of reporters before travelling to the Ryder Cup, Trump said: "The team is not doing so well. So, when I heard that, I said, 'Let’s go on the plane we have to try and help them'."
