Lando Norris delivered an F1 masterclass in Brazil, winning a wet race run in trechaerous conditions by almost 15sec from Max Verstappen.
While a number of his competitors, including Kimi Antonelli and Lewis Hamilton, struggled and span off at various points, Norris took an assured victory.
However, his podium celebration didn’t’ exactly go to plan - and it’s hardly the first time for Norris.

Having won two races in the middle part of the 2026 season, Lando Norris and McLaren had seen their team have a poor run of results, struggling to get the car in a good set-up window.
However, new upgrades seemed to do the trick in Brazil this weekend, the Brit managing to take pole in the wet on Saturday.

Come race day, Norris was again in fine form. Despite falling behind Kimi Antonelli at the start, the McLaren would regian the lead when the Italian span off early on.
From there, Norris never looked troubled, taking the 14th F1 win of his career.

Once on the podium to receive his trophy, Norris got ready to perform his customary win celebration, which involves popping the champagne cork off by slamming the base of the bottle into the ground.
However, the bottle simply shattered in his hand. Norris was unhurt, left to be showered in champagne by other podium finishers Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar.
It’s not the first time he’s had a podium disaster. Norris memorably broke Verstappen’s trophy at Hungary in 2023, the decorative vase falling off the podium when performing his champagne trick then.

Norris was unchallenged for the duration of race in Brazil, a fine return to form after enduring a tricky period recently.
Having not stood on the podium for six races, the Brit was relishing taking another win.
“It was a very tough race, very very tough. Obviously, not the best of launches off the line, but a lot of challenges today.
“Obviously, with the conditions and going on slicks in the wet is always tough, especially when you're pushing for for the lead and trying to catch up a little bit.
“The main thing today was I just kept cool and I didn't make any mistakes and I had the pace when I needed to, so it was good.
“Nice to be back on the top step and what a place to do it as well.
“I feel like most times this year, when it's been an opportunity, I went for it, and we've been able to achieve it. So I have to say a big thanks to the team because they're still working very hard.”
