Lando Norris has pledged his future to McLaren in a long-awaited new contract, but the eye-watering salary is far from the coolest reward in his deal.
After getting back to winning ways in the Formula 1 campaign, Lando Norris has cemented his McLaren status for seasons to come.
The reigning world champion is McLaren through and through, but with looming questions over the future of Max Verstappen and talks progressing to get him in papaya overalls, there was a slight chance that we could have seen Norris make way.
But both parties are continuing with their star drivers, as Max Verstappen recently penned his signature on a bumper Red Bull deal, and now Lando Norris has been rewarded with a hefty raise.

Norris' new McLaren deal keeps him at the team until 2030 and is reportedly worth around £60 million a year, making him the third-highest-paid driver on the grid behind Verstappen and fellow British racer Lewis Hamilton.
Yet details have emerged that Norris has also received a new car as a signing bonus, and it's absolutely the best thing you could ever gift to a world champion.
Lando Norris gifted incredible F1 car in new McLaren contract
In a statement provided to Planet F1, McLaren has provided Norris with the iconic car in which he won the F1 Drivers' Championship in 2025.
"In addition to confirming his future with McLaren for the next four years at least, Lando will be gifted an MCL39, which he raced during his 2025 world championship-winning season," McLaren said.
“This gift serves as a lasting reminder of his contribution to the team, in particular his part in securing the team’s second consecutive constructors’ title in 2025, while also becoming the team’s first Formula 1 Drivers’ World Champion since 2008.”
Usually, McLaren keeps their most famous cars and displays them in a row at their headquarters in Woking, UK, but this one will be entering Norris' garage
Only a handful of drivers ever get to keep official F1 cars, with McLaren manager Zak Brown boasting one of the biggest collections of retired chassis.

Lando Norris' car collection continues to grow
Despite being the fastest man on the grid in 2025/26, Norris' car collection is still lagging behind his more experienced drivers like Fernando Alonso, but it's certainly growing.
McLaren specifically has already bolstered his garage with a 765LT Spider, a P1, and Senna, while he's added a Rolls-Royce Wraith, a Ferrari F40, a Shelby Cobra 427, and a classic Fiat 500 Jolly to a growing garage.
Before the MCL39, Norris' collection was reportedly worth around £10 million. With a new £60 million-a-year salary, no doubt that it will continue to expand.
