Jimmy Fallon sent a direct message to Martin Brundle following his bizarre grid walk interview at the Miami Grand Prix.

After over 25 years doing his iconic grid walk interviews, Formula One legend Brundle has had plenty of interesting moments with major celebrities.

The Sky Sports reporter has carried out the grid walk interviews since 1997, with the anticipation for who Brundle could bump into a big part of the excitement for each race.

In the past, Brundle has had viral moments speaking with the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Megan Thee Stallion, Kylian Mbappe and Pep Guardiola.

However, perhaps the most awkward or just completely bizarre moment of Brundle's broadcast career may have come at the Miami Grand Prix last weekend during his conversation with American talk show host Fallon.

After asking Fallon for some 'funny lines', the talk show host bizarrely bit the top section of Brundle's Sky F1 microphone and ripped it off.

Brundle was completely taken aback by the weird gesture and later took to X to share his thoughts on the moment, writing: "In 30 years of broadcasting I’ve never wondered what a branded microphone sock tastes like. There’s some very funny people around."

And during the latest episode of The Tonight Show, Fallon responded to Brundle while describing his time at the Miami Grand Prix.

"They have a thing called the grid where they had you go out onto the track right before the race and you do like 20 interviews with reporters all over the world," he said.

"Martin Brundle, by the way your microphone tastes delicious."

When Fallon was later shown on Sky Sports sitting the Mercedes garage during the formation lap of the race, Brundle also referenced the moment, quipping: "That's my new friend from the gridwalk."

Martin Brundle's funniest grid walk interviews

Brundle's encounter with American rapper Megan Thee Stallion at the 2021 US Grand Prix will undoubtedly be one that he will forever remember.

As he approached her, he said: “You’re a freestyle rapper, have you got any rap for us today on Formula One?”

Megan replied: “I have no rap today, I’m sorry.” At this point, one of her entourage told the former racing driver: “You can’t do this.”

To which Brundle brilliantly replied: “I can do that because I did.”

A year later in Miami Brundle suffered one of the most embarrassing moments in his broadcasting career as he approached NBA star Banchero, mistaking him for NFL star Patrick Mahomes.

Brundle later said: “It's not Patrick – that's why he ignored me.”

The pair reunited 2023 and the Orlando Magic star said: “I'm honoured that you know my name now man. You're great at what you do.”
