Fans think Yaya Toure has been disrespected by EA Sports with his FIFA 23 card, with it being branded "a complete robbery".

Now retired and working as a coach for Tottenham's academy, the former Manchester City and Barcelona midfielder is back in the game has been overlooked for 'Icon' status and instead been given a FUT Heroes card.

These secondary special items have been introduced to shine a light on players who have " a common characteristic of leadership and respect for the clubs they played for".

Toure is one of the new additions to the 'Heroes' club, having been given an 87 base card and an 89 upgraded World Cup rating.

Some of the Ivorian's stats are impressive, with 89 physical, 84 dribbling, 86 passing and 83 shooting.

But there's been outrage over Toure only being given 78 pace despite him demonstrating some serious speed on many an occasion in his pomp.

It seems like EA have never seen his insane marauding run against Aston Villa in 2014.

being just a hero card is a robbery enough but my guy could tear through a defence before you can blink

Was 95 when he burnt off most of Villa's midfield and defence.

— Greeno (@EtihadProbably) September 25, 2022

Overall should not be below 90… this guy owned the midfield when City played

Yaya getting a hero instead of an icon is more of a robbery

Getting a hero card instead of an icon card is more of a robbery for this guy. Fifa Literally downgraded after fifa15

— Shreyansh MCFC (@Shreyansh0111) September 25, 2022

why is he not an icon wtf

FIFA have always done him dirty when it comes to ratings

With his 89 upgrade card, Toure's pace does rise to 82 - with a slew of his other attributes seeing an increase too. In his playing days, his highest ever rating was 86 - an overall he received in FIFA 13, FIFA 14, FIFA 15 and FIFA 16.

Other new FUT heroes this year include Park-Ji Sung, Peter Crouch, Dirk Kuyt, Jay-Jay Okocha, Ricardo Carvalho and Diego Forlan to name just a few.

According to FutWiz, Toure's card is going for more than 1 million coins on the Xbox and PlayStation transfer market.
