England supporters have taken to social media after they spotted what Lucy Bronze did with the captain's armband during their dramatic semi-final win over Italy at Euro 2025.

The Lionesses, who won Euro 2022, are through to another final after a last-gasp victory over the Italians on Tuesday night.

England trailed for the most of the game and looked to be heading for a shock exit, until teenage substitute Michelle Agyemang equalised in the 96th minute to take the game to extra-time.

With just one minute left on the additional period, Beth Mead was brought down in the box, giving the Lionesses a chance to win it from the spot.

Chloe Kelly, known for her distinctive run-up, saw her effort saved by Laura Giuliani, but she was first to react and drilled home the rebound to spark wild celebrations.

What did Lucy Bronze do?

One thing that has caught the attention of England supporters during this tournament has been the positioning of Lucy Bronze's captain's armband.

It has been pictured on several times just above her wrist, rather than the standard spot of the upper-arm.

After England's quarter-final victory over Sweden, in which Bronze scored, many fans took to Reddit to comment - with most just delighted that England had made it through to the next round.

"She can do whatever she likes with it, semi finals lads," wrote one fan.

"Scored her penalty, not arsed," added another.

But others were more sceptical and even critical of Bronze's decision.

"Reminds me of that time period where Ronaldo wore it loose and it kept falling down his arm to the point that he had to hold onto it," posted a third user.

While another wrote: "It’s called a captain armband it’s goes round ya arm, not ya wrist pretty simple."

Bronze was was seen with the captain's armband around her wrist again after England's dramatic semi-final triumph.

As she came down in the tunnel to conduct her post-match interview, she could be seen with the armband just above her wrist.

But it is unlikely to have bothered a jubilant Bronze, as England prepare to defend their crown in Sunday's final against either Germany or Spain - who face each other on Wednesday evening.

Is Lucy Bronze allowed to wear the armband on her wrist?

Not really.

But Article 42 of UEFA's Equipment Regulations does not explicitly state that the captain's armband must be worn on the wrist, nor that a player would face punishment for doing so.

However, it is implied within rules that the armband should be worn on the upper-arm.
