A confident young West Ham United fan has won Irons supporters’ hearts after they made a passionate speech following the team’s 2-1 UEFA Europa Conference League victory over AZ Alkmaar.

Just before the break, AZ Alkmaar took the lead after Hammers keeper Alphonse Areola failed to stop Tijjani Reijnders’ low shot at his near post.

However, David Moyes’ team managed to claw back the chance of claiming their first major trophy since 1980 after a powerful Said Benrahma penalty and a close-range strike from Michail Antonio.

West Ham fans left the London Stadium feeling on top of the world, and are now gearing up for the second semi-final leg next week.

However, one passionate supporter of the East London team has completely stolen the show, and the internet is loving them for it. You can watch his reaction in the video below.

Appearing on the fan channel, West Ham Fan TV, the unnamed child held their own in an Irons home shirt and discussed fan mentality, Europa Conference League ambitions and perfect penalties.

The host opened the one-minute-long reaction clip by saying: “We’re outside the London Stadium, 2-1 win, semi-final.”

They then asked the young fan: “You happy with that, was it a good performance?”

The confident kid replied: “That was amazing we had the fight to come back from that. Listen, how can we lose against ‘Alphabet FC’?

“Listen — airport that way, Prague is this way. We’re getting to that final I’m telling you. Smashing them 3-1 in the second leg mate, definitely,” they added.

The interviewer then joked and asked if the young football enthusiast had been guzzling bottles of KSI and Logan Paul’s Prime Energy drink, to which the kid had a hilarious reply.

“Not today mate,” they said, which sent the gathering crowd into hysterics.

The kid then continued to say that West Ham “had the fight and desire to come back from [being 1-0 down].

“A solid penalty from Said Benrahma and [Michail] Antonio’s goal [was] good too.”

“Listen, I think [AZ Alkmaar] just lost all their confidence but they have got some great fans who stayed ‘till the end even though they were 2-1 down, you have to give them that, mate.”

About the possibility of West Ham making the final at the Fortuna Arena in June, the enthusiastic child backed their team and believed that they could go all the way.

“We’re safe in the league now. Now we’ve got to win this whole entire thing. We’ve got to go to Prague and do it. I think we’ll do it, easy. Come on you Irons!”

The video was originally posted to the West Ham Fan TV YouTube channel but has since been picked up by various outlets across Twitter.

In reply to the reaction video, one viewer wrote: “Absolute legend this kid. Single-handedly restoring my faith in the next generation of football fans.”

Another said: “Who is this kid!!! What a little legend!! Couldn’t have put it better myself… Alphabet FC.”

A third agreed and commented: “In all seriousness [they] need to be part of the @westhamfabtv setup. What a voice for the young fans of the club. Let’s hear what the younger generation have to say and what they want from their club.”

West Ham will travel to the AFAS Stadion to play the second semi-final Europa Conference League game on Thursday, 18 May.

If they beat AZ Alkmaar next week, the team will play in the final on Wednesday 7 June.
