Premier League history could be made this weekend as struggling West Ham and Everton lock horns on Saturday.

After leading West Ham to a seventh-placed finish last season, many fans were expecting David Moyes’ team to build on their success.

However, they have had a disastrous start to the 22/23 season as they currently sit 18th in the Premier League table after collecting just 15 points out of a possible 57.

Everton are also having a difficult campaign after narrowly avoiding relegation last season.

Frank Lampard’s men have produced some encouraging performances but they have largely disappointed. The Toffees are currently level on points with West Ham but are one place below the Hammers due to goal difference.

Ahead of their crucial clash on Saturday, both Moyes and Lampard are under serious pressure with their jobs well and truly on the line.

As a result, we could see history being made if the two sides play out a draw.

One fan posted on Twitter: “If this ends in a draw, it may become the first time in Premier League history that both managers get sacked.”

Other fans were quick to react to the tweet.

Someone wrote: “The first ever home and away end in unison booing.”

Another added: “They could just swap jobs.”

A third fan commented: “Winner keeps their manager for another week.”

Ahead of this weekend’s clash, Lampard spoke about the difficulties at Everton.

He said: “Everyone here wants the same things; they want Everton to win games. Whether that be an Evertonian who is sitting at Goodison or sitting at home, there are so many of them around the world, I have learnt that in this last year. We all want the same thing.

“The players don’t want to be in this position, the reality is we are here. There are lots of reasons for that but they should have a human reaction to that after games. I have had things to say, too, because from my point of view given the position we are in, we must fight, and be ready to fight.”
