Vinicius Junior is set to end his contract with Nike over unfair treatment, according to stunning reports.

The Real Madrid star enjoyed a breakout campaign last season, scoring an impressive 22 goals in all competitions.

He's become an important figure for club and country, and is one of the most exciting talents in world football.

The 22-year-old is also becoming a big star off the pitch, improving his marketability following a big season for the Spanish giants.

The Brazil international has a deal with Nike that runs until 2028. However, he's 'unhappy' with how he has been treated and has instructed his lawyers to help him break out of his contract, according to Brazilian outlet O Globo.

He opened up legal proceedings before the World Cup, but has continued to represent the brand, wearing Nike clothing and boots in Qatar.

Vinicius Jr isn't pleased with Nike for giving him old boots to wear at the end of last season.

He donned Mercurials from a previous range during Real's triumphant Champions League run.

Vinicius Jr scored his side's winning goal in the final against Liverpool, but feels he has not been given the recognition he deserves.

He's also unhappy that he has been omitted from some of Nike's big advertising campaigns ahead of the World Cup despite being one of the company's biggest names.

Vinicius Jr also has sponsorships deal with Pepsi, EA Sports, Vivo, Casas Bahia, BetNacional, OneFootball, JetEngage, Golden Concept and Royaltiz.

If Vinicius Jr does end up leaving Nike, then it'd be the second high-profile Brazilian star to do so after Neymar left his arrangement in 2020.

He ended his agreement to team up with Puma in a deal worth £23 million-per-year.

Vinicius Jr, meanwhile, will be looking to steer his national team to the World Cup quarter-finals when they face South Korea in the last 16.

He starred in their victories over Serbia and Switzerland before being rested against Cameroon.
