Manchester United fans are all saying the same thing about Victor Lindelof's commanding defensive showing against Leicester City and it spells bad news for Harry Maguire.

Lindelof started in defence alongside Lisandro Martinez as part of Erik ten Hag's rotation following Man United's draw at Barcelona.

And he put in a stellar shift at the back, keeping a clean sheet as the Red Devils claimed three points against Leicester City in a 3-0 win at Old Trafford.

The 28-year-old contained the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, with fans hailing his performance as he deputised for Raphael Varane, who will likely return for Man United when they take on Barcelona next Thursday.

Man United supporters also believe Lindelof is the better back-up option than Maguire as they claimed they'd rather keep the Swede over the Englishman.

One Twitter user wrote: "The difference btw This guy & Maguire is so much, Dear ETH anytime we need rotation, give us LINDELOF please."

A second tweeted: "In this game Lindelof have pushed Maguire out of the club imo."

A third added: "Lindelof is a good defender, Maguire is the problem."

A fourth commented: "Lindelof is actually good backup. Much better than Maguire."

A fifth said: "Lindelof has his faults but I am selling Maguire over him in the summer. The latter has value in the transfer market and needs a move away."

Lindelof's appearance against the Foxes on Sunday was just his ninth league game of the season.

But he has convinced fans he is ahead of Maguire in the defensive pecking order.

The England international wasn't in the squad for the league fixture against Leicester due to an injury.

Speaking to Sky Sports about Maguire's absence, Ten Hag said: "Harry is injured.

"You have to keep everyone fresh but also look to the opponent tactical wise what can you do, where can you beat them. so that approach every time you try and make the best selection."
