Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have failed to make their most exciting Wrexham transfer yet after a last-minute twist.
Wrexham have signed five players this summer ahead of their campaign in League One next season.
Arthur Okonkwo, George Dobson and Callum Burton have been snapped up on free transfers while undisclosed fees were paid to acquire the services of Lewis Brunt and Sebastian Revan.
The Welsh outfit remain in the market for new talent as they aim to achieve promotion for a third successive season.

The club were eyeing an ambitious move for Brighton's Marc Leonard, having held talks with the player.
But Reynolds and McElhenney have missed out on his signing in a major blow.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Birmingham City have agreed a deal with the Premier League outfit to sign Leonard.
Birmingham, who have Tom Brady in their ownership group, are set to splash out £500,000 with add-ons to sign the budding midfielder.

Romano claims a 'deal is set to be signed', with the 22-year-old already completing a medical in view to his switch.
The news will come as a blow to Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson, who admitted his side have work to do to be competitive next season.
"At the moment, we have a lot of work to do in terms of our recruitment to make us competitive," he explained. "Every season you have to start with the aim of being at the top. I liaise with the owners all the time about what I feel we need to be competitive. We are not quite there yet.

"The squad is good, but we are going into a top league."
Birmingham will rub shoulders with Wrexham in League One following their relegation from the Championship last season.
The first fixture between them is scheduled for September 16 at St. Andrew's.
