Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have entered a transfer tug-of-war with Wayne Rooney's Plymouth Argyle for their next Wrexham signing.
Wrexham have already reinforced their squad this summer ahead of their campaign in League One.
Arthur Okonkwo, George Dobson, Callum Burton, Lewis Brunt and Sebastian Revan have all been snapped up as the club continues to search for new talent.
And, according to HITC, Wrexham are 'ready to battle' a host of Championship clubs for John McAtee.

The forward, who is the brother of Manchester City starlet James, is on the books at Luton Town.
But he has yet to play a game for Luton, having spent time away from the club.
He enjoyed a loan spell at Barnsley last season, scoring 10 goals in League One.
But Wrexham face stiff competition to sign McAtee as Rooney's Plymouth are also keeping tabs on the 24-year-old.

And they aren't the only Championship side in the race to sign him, with Blackburn Rovers, Millwall, Derby County and Portsmouth all thought to be interested.
Not to mention League One outfit Bolton Wanderers.
Luton are ready to offload McAtee as he has no shortage of options.

Speaking after Wrexham's 1-1 draw with Bournemouth, where McElhenney and key director Shaun Harvey were both in attendance, Phil Parkinson said he hopes the club will come up with the 'right' decisions in the transfer market.
"We have got Rob and Shaun Harvey flew in yesterday so it is a great chance to review the squad," he said.
"Can we add a little bit of quality? We are speaking to a few players while we are out here. Hopefully we will make the right decisions to take us into the season."
Wrexham are currently in the United States for their pre-season tour, with friendlies against Chelsea and Vancouver Whitecaps on deck.
