Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac prepare most ambitious Wrexham transfer yet as agent confirms talks for Euro 2024 star

Wrexham attempted a hugely ambitious transfer this summer.

Wrexham are plotting their most ambitious transfer yet as Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac are looking to complete a blockbuster signing this summer.

Wrexham will ply their trade in the Championship next season, having secured three consecutive promotions.

The Welsh side are just one division away from the Premier League as Reynolds and Mac hope to fulfil their dreams of Wrexham playing in England's top flight.

The club have recruited heavily this summer as they aim to achieve yet another promotion.

Goalkeeper Danny Ward and forward Ryan Hardie have joined Wrexham ahead of the new season.

Not to mention Lewis O'Brien and Josh Windass, who faces an awkward reunion with his new teammate.

Wrexham remain in the market for new talent and even tried to sign former Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen in what would have been a stunning transfer.

According to the Daily Mail, Wrexham attempted to pull off the signing of Eriksen, who was impressed by the proposal.

But the 33-year-old wants to continue his career in a top-flight competition.

"Wrexham are really upgrading everything both on and off the field, and it is a hugely impressive project, as you can see from the presence of people like Michael Williamson there," Eriksen’s representative Martin Schoots said of Wrexham's offer.

"But Christian still wants to play in a first-tier competition and he absolutely wants to stay in Western Europe. There are some contacts going on but it has to suit both sides."

Eriksen, who starred at Euro 2024, has no shortage of offers as he has been approached by clubs from Turkey, Brazil, Saudi Arabia and the United States.

The Dane has spent a majority of his professional career in the Premier League, having enjoyed spells at Tottenham, Brentford and Man United.

He joined Spurs from Ajax and made 305 appearances for the club during his spell in North London.

Eriksen also had a six-month stint at Brenford after being let go by Inter Milan.

He has spent the last three seasons at Old Trafford following his free transfer in the summer of 2022.

Which other big-name players have Wrexham tried to sign this summer?

Wrexham CEO Michael Williamson was appointed in May 2024, having worked for Serie A giants Inter and MLS side DC United.

He was tasked with leading Wrexham's recruitment and plotted several mega transfers, but, as of yet, to no avail.

Eriksen hasn't been the only high-profile player on their radar as Wrexham also looked at Jamie Vardy and Tom Cairney.

Premier League legend Vardy was released from Leicester City at the end of last season and is still without a club. Wrexham were keen on signing the veteran forward.

They also attempted to sign Premier League midfielder Cairney from Fulham.
